Built in 1898 as a commercial building for the Istanbul merchants Garabed and Enisek Esayan, it represents a valuable example of urban architecture from the late 19th century and is today declared a cultural monument. Currently, the building is owned by the Bulgarian Navy.
Its restoration aims to preserve its historical value and authentic architectural image. The restoration includes the renewal of the facade plaster and all decorative architectural elements. Reconstruction of the main balcony on the southern facade, replacement of the window frames, as well as a complete repair of the building’s roof. The interior has been updated through the replacement of installations, flooring, and finishes, while valuable original elements have been restored and preserved.
