Project information:
On the site of today’s Hotel “Royal,” there was originally an inn built in 1879. Later, in 1905, the owner Hassan Osmanov—an egg merchant—realized his vision for a modern hotel, designed by the architect Nikola Lazarov. The facade decoration strongly reflects the client’s profession through motifs related to eggs. The building functioned as a hotel until 1944, after which it was nationalized and used as a military commandant’s office during the socialist period. It was later declared an architectural cultural heritage site.
The restoration aims to return the building to its original purpose as a hotel, while preserving the original floor plan as much as possible. The works performed include strengthening and constructing new structural elements. An additional mansard floor was added to the building, and a dome was constructed over the central pediment. All sculptures and ornaments on the facade have been restored or reconstructed with careful attention to the authentic decorative details and the historical character of the building.
