Address: 21 Preslav Str., 18 Drazki Str., Varna
Year of completion: 2018
Investor: Private individual
Project information:
The building was constructed in 1902, and it is believed to have been originally designed as a medical office for either Dr. Vasil Flori or Dr. Vasilaki Papadopoulo. The architectural style and stone facade elements bear the characteristic hallmarks of early 20th-century urban architecture. Today, it is declared a cultural monument.
During the restoration activities, the stone facade was cleaned of accumulated layers of plaster and paint, followed by stone conservation using impregnants and protective materials to preserve its authentic appearance. A new wooden roof structure was built with a plastic-coated sheet metal covering. Decorative facade elements, such as windowsills and capitals, were restored. The window frames were replaced, and the frontal balcony—part of the original architectural design but missing for recent decades—was rebuilt and returned to the facade’s original composition.
