Address: 4 Zhitna Str., Varna
Year of completion: 2022
Investor: BMF AD (Navigation Maritime Bulgare)
Project information:
The building was constructed in 1912 as a reconstruction of the administrative and commercial property of the “Sarkiz Kuyumdzhiyan” Anglo-Bulgarian Anonymous Society (founded in 1896) into V. Varbanov’s factory, based on a design by architect Dabko Dabkov. The stone facade and architectural details reflect the industrial and urban architecture of the early 20th century. The building has been declared a cultural monument.
During the restoration, the stone facade was conserved using impregnants and protective materials to preserve and maintain the authentic appearance of the stone. The roof cladding was replaced, and thermal insulation wool was installed. Partial and complete restorations of windowsills, capitals, and other architectural elements were also carried out, along with a total replacement of the window frames.
